Patterns, or gobos, are widely used by lighting designers in theatre, film, photography and television to create atmosphere, project scenery, and generally enhance the visual impact of their lighting. Conceived by some of the world’s leading lighting designers, the Rosco range presently includes over 700 standard steel gobo designs, each of which is illustrated in the Designer Pattern Catalog, available at Rosco's on-line catalog. To insure design integrity the patterns are etched using a precise double- sided process on stainless steel. The result is durable, high quality patterns which will withstand the extreme heat at the gate of ellipsoidal spotlights. Rosco Designer Patterns are round to allow for rotation in the gate when aligning the projected image. The standard "B" size is suitable for most fixtures with a 6" lens when used with a Rosco Pattern Holder or the holders of other manufacturers. Trimming of patterns, where necessary, can be easily accomplished with a pair of scissors. In addition, standard sizes for popular moving lights are also available. Custom Steel gobos will project your company logo or trademark from most ellipsoidal pattern projectors. Custom steel gobos are easily and quickly made from most designs. Manufactured like a stencil, all elements of your design must be connected with tabs to the outer ring of the gobo, called tabbing. Rosco's graphic designers will add "tabs" to your design keeping them as unobtrusive as possible. Send us your artwork via E-mail in .TIFF format or Fax it to us at 858-487-5195. | The Universal Iris Slot Holder has been carefully tooled and engineered to fit into many of the new generation ellipsoidal fixtures including the ETC Source Four, Altman Shakespeare, Strand SL, and the Selecon Pacific Cool Light. The Iris Slot holder allows a glass pattern to be placed in the iris slot of a fixture in the front of the gate, necessary for some thicker glass gobos. In addition the Universal Iris Slot Holder is double-sided allowing you to use two gobos, glass and / or steel, in the iris slot at the same time. Rosco's Colorizer Patterns can be used to create stunning multicolored projection effects. Colored in gentle hues in one of three styles - Stippled, Featherlight, or Free Flow. They fit theatrical ellipsoidal fixtures that accepts the Rosco "Standard B" size glass patterns, (maximum wattage 1000 watts). Colorizers™ can be used alone to achieve colored projections or paired in a pattern holder with a stainless steel pattern for new dramatic effects. Suddenly a leaf breakup has added depth and color and a typical abstract pattern paired with a colorizer has a unique look. To further enhance the color add a color filter or a split gel to the gel frame. Image Glass patterns are clear, deeply textured gobos which create beautiful, softly shaded projections. Unlike steel gobos which block light, Image Glass pass virtually all of the the light from a luminaire. Used alone, or in combination with other gobos, stunning results can be achieved. | . Prismatics are multi-colored textured patterns made up from tiny chips of dichroic colored glass. Use them alone or with other patterns, steel or glass, or in a double gobo rotator. Six different color styles are available in ‘Standard B’ size for new generation Ellipsoidals lamped to a maximum of 600 watts and for moving lights by special order. Prismatics must be used in the Iris slot of an ellipsoidal luminaire. Quick Tip: When combining a steel gobo and a Prismatic in the same luminaire, make sure that the placement of the steel gobo is furthest from the light source. The smooth blending of color and shadow gradients projects dynamic, hi-impact visual effects.
